Ann Marie King

Ann Marie King, or "Annie" as she was affectionately known, was called from labor to rest on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Penn Medicine Princeton. A born and raised Princetonian, she resided on Birch Avenue until her passing.

Ann Marie was born to Robert W. King, Sr., and Virginia Ann King and had one brother, Robert W. King, Jr. She attended Princeton Public Schools and was a 1982 graduate of Princeton High School. She attended Spelman College and Mercer County Community College, where she earned her associate's degree. She went on to become an Orthodontic Assistant for 33 years, until 2017. In 2018, she changed careers and began working for the Mercer County Board of Social Services (MCBOSS).

Ann Marie was a long-standing member of the First Baptist Church of Princeton, where she was baptized in 1978. She actively served and was faithful to the Homeless Ministry there. She had a deep passion for roller-skating and would travel to several rinks across the Tri-State area.

Ann Marie is preceded in death by her loving parents, Robert and Virginia King; her big brother, Robby; her special aunt, Naomi "Dolly" King; her godmother, Dannie F. Kennedy; and a special son, Alger F. Fredericks.

Her memory will be forever remembered and cherished by her son Dion L. Privett, Jr. (Shay) of Silver Spring-, MD; her daughter Courtney R. Privett of Princeton, NJ; grandsons, Oliver' Ollie" and Jack Privett, whom she adored; her grand-bird, Birdie; a sister-in-law, Dorothy "Bunny" King; nieces Marissa Staples-Davis (Lashell), Michaela King (Jason), Tiffany Fish (Dylan); a great-niece Chance Staples-Davis; a god-sister Elizabeth Kennedy; one goddaughter Shaun Davidson. She also leaves to cherish great memories, her best friends Cathy Samuel-Smith, Sheryl Trotman, and Winona Roach; her "little sister" DeAndrea Hall; special sons, Paul Estrada and Vance Slocum; and a host of relatives, and too many friends to name!

Funeral service will be 12pm Friday, June 26, 2026 at First Baptist Church of Princeton, 119 John Street, Princeton, NJ 08542.  Interment will be private.
