Obituary

Your life was a blessing,  your memory a treasure.  You are loved beyond words, missed beyond measure.

Arnold Mitnaul, 72, of Lawrence Township, NJ passed away peacefully on August 24, 2023 after a decades-long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. He was born on June 4, 1951, in Rahway, NJ, to Paul Mitnaul and Doris Black Mitnaul Holmes both now deceased.

Arnold is survived by his brother, Bryan Mitnaul, his daughters Mary Mitnaul Robinson (Reggie), Marissa Mitnaul (Katrena), and Deanna Mitnaul, his companion Ursula Caldwell, and his grandchildren Marquis Gillette, Olivia Gillette, Ryan Diaz, Naomi Mitnaul-Reed, Julian Mitnaul-Reed, Eric Duarte and Amanda Williams.

Prior to his battle with MS, Arnold had a very successful career, working for Stony Brook Sewer, West New York Municipal Authority, and Bristol Myers Squibb. He was known for his dedication to his work and many significant contributions to his field of waste water management.

Outside of his professional life, Arnold had a variety of hobbies. As a teenager he loved sports, especially baseball and his 1965 Ford Mustang. As an adult, he was very active in politics and enjoyed staying informed about current events. He had a deep love for movies and could often be found discussing the latest films with his family and friends. Arnold also cherished his time spent talking on the phone with loved ones, finding joy in connecting with them. Arnold was known for his humor and whit and his uncanny ability to remember random facts (historical facts particularly in his case). He loved Game Of Thrones and to share stories about the "old days."

A memorial service to honor Arnold's life will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023. Details regarding the location and time of the service will be provided by the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to The National Multiple Sclerosis Society in Arnold's memory. This organization was meaningful to him, and donations will support their important work.

Arnold Sherwood Mitnaul will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him; May his memory be a comfort to those who mourn his loss and may he rest in peace.
