Augustus aka Gus Crumbley Jr., affectionately known to his family and "Tanky" was born on June 1, 1961, to Augustus Crumbley Sr. and Earbelle Crumbley. He departed this life on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Preferred Care in Hamilton, New Jersey.
Augustus Crumbley Jr. was educated in the Trenton public school system. Upon graduation he worked several years in the field contractors with local?????. In his pastime, he along with his best friend John Pack Jr. managed The Horseshoe Bar owned by his father Augustus "AC" Crumbley Sr.
He was a diehard #1 fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, especially when they played against his brother Daryl's Dallas Cowboys. Augustus was a loving father and doting grandfather. Gus most loved being a Big Brother to his siblings."
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents James and Earbelle McKenzie; paternal grandparents Oscar Crumbley and Aire Kennel; a brother Kevin McKenzie Crumbley; two daughters Ebonki McCall and Taunte Crumbley; sister-in-law Bonnie Crumbley.
He leaves to cherish, his four sisters Aire "Sharon", Debbie Crumbley, Cheryl (Kirk) Thompson and Regina (Daryl) Hayes; two brothers Gregory (Valerie) Crumbley of Jonesboro, GA and Daryl Crumbley of Willingboro, NJ; one god sister Antoinette Brooks; one aunt Elizabeth Pue of Hamilton, NJ; an uncle Charles McKenzie; he leaves his legacy, two daughters Mahogany Johnson of Trenton, NJ and Erica Crumbley of California; one son Chadd Augustus Crumbley; seven granddaughters, four grandsons; one great granddaughter; his lifelong friends and chosen family John Pack Jr. and Leon Brooks; his caretaker and friends Judy (Sandra) Foskey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 11am Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hours will be 9am until the time of service. Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ.
