Barbara A. Oliver

Barbara Ann Oliver was born on July 5, 1945, to the late Alfred & Minnie Oliver in Trenton, NJ where she lived her entire life. She peacefully departed this life on August 10, 2025, at Capital Health Regional -Helene Fuld.

Barbara grew up in the Trenton area, where she attended Jefferson Elementary School, Junior High School #3, and Trenton Central High School. In her early years, she worked at The Trenton Times newspaper as a Sales Associate and briefly at General Motors Corp. in Ewing, NJ.

Barbara lived her life to the fullest and was known as the life of the party. She enjoyed going to Bingo and playing games of chance such as lottery scratch offs and playing her numbers. In addition, she especially enjoyed taking bus trips to Atlantic City, with her beloved son Darren, where they spent time at her favorite spot, Resorts Hotel & Casino. Barbara was also known for her taste in fashion. She loved to shop at Stacy's Boutique where she would always be able to find beautiful and eclectic jewelry to adorn her fabulous outfits. She also had a special eye for finding unique treasures which she would often gift to her beloved family members. Throughout the years, you would be able to find Barbara smoking her Winston cigarettes, enjoying her freshly brewed coffee, enjoying a cocktail and reading the newspaper. Some of her favorite times were celebrating the holidays, spending time with her bestie, Mary and her siblings and family· reunions. Sadly in 2005, she became ill and had to enter Water's Edge Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center where she resided for the remainder of life.

Barbara was a kind, loving, and caring person whose sweet personality will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Barbara is predeceased by her parents Alfred and Minnie Oliver; Brothers Bruce W. Oliver and Alfred L. Oliver; Sister Maxine M. Oliver; Uncle James T. Oliver; Aunt Hattie Pearl Stokes; Nephews Bruce (June) Oliver and Alfred (Bucket) Oliver.

Barbara leaves to cherish her precious memories, her beloved son; Darren K Oliver; Brothers, Alfred and Nathan Harris (Sharon); Sister-in-Laws, Lena Oliver and Rosie Oliver. Additionally, Nieces, Dana Oliver, Cheryl Oliver, Tameka Oliver, Lisa Logan; Mickell Leftridge. Nephews, Tahir Oliver, Ronald Logan; and a host of great nieces and nephews. As well as her close childhood best friend Mary and her sisters Lit and Imogene.

Funeral service will be 11am Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 10am until the time of service. Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ.
