Barry L. Parker, Sr. departed this life to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 16, 2024, with his loving wife by his bedside.
Barry was the son of the late Roberta and Essie B. Parker was born on July 8, 1955, in Trenton, NJ. He was educated in the Trenton Public School System and graduated from Trenton Central High School. He continued his education at Mercer County Community College to be a welder under the guidance of Mr. Jimmy Spears.
Barry worked at Crescent Wire, side by side with his father before his employment with the State of New Jersey at the Vroom Building. Then he went on to work at the City of Trenton Water Works as a mechanic. He retired from there with the utmost respect from his superiors.
Barry enjoyed working in his backyard, enjoying his time in hot tub, and playing pool in his mancave. He also enjoyed playing with his cat, Pepper.
Barry was known to many as “PJ” from back in the day. He was instrumental in helping anyone who needed a helping hand getting them back on the right track. He was the founder of a program called, “New Way of Life” that started at the Wayne Avenue Baptist Church over 20 years ago.
Barry accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Wayne Avenue Baptist Church. He also sang in the Pastor’s Choir and served on the Trustee Board.
Barry was a jazzy dresser who loved to coordinate his entire outfit from head to toe. He loved his hats, suits, ties and his gators and Stacy Adams shoes. He could have been a fashion designer in another life. In addition to his parents,
Barry was predeceased by his nephew, Darrell W. Parker. He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Jessica Parker; his sons, Barry L. Parker, Jr. of Bensalem, PA and Marlon Parrott (Felicia); two sisters, Betty Mason (Robert) of Raeford, NC and Ophelia Parker of Orlando, FL; two brothers, Jerome “Jerry” L. Parker (Shirley) of Indianapolis, IN and Rudolph Parker (Ruby) of Trenton, NJ; six grandchildren: Jena, Trey, Jordan, Brianna, Ashley, and Marlon Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Jayla, Havana, and Nova; and a host of sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including his special friends, Andre Thompson, George Hall, and Dale Mitchell.

Funeral service will be 11am Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Wayne Ave. Baptist Church, 30 Wayne Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hours will be 9am until the time of service. Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ.
