Bason Bowser Obituary

A Celebration of Life Bason “Steve” Bowser Jr. Bason Bowser Jr. was born on February 9, 1957 in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina to parents Bason Sr. and Charlean Bowser. Bason adopted few nicknames throughout his life – early years known as “Cake” and later he adopted and was referred to as "Steve".

In 1977, Bason graduated from Northwest High School a part of the Halifax Public School System in North Carolina. Shortly, after that, he was proud to continue his education at the North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina (a public historically black university).

In early 1980’s, Bason moved North to Trenton, New Jersey with his family. He was looking forward to the opportunities his relocation had to offer him. He soon began his career at the State of New Jersey, Division of Motor Vehicle Services (DMV). In 2017, Bason retired from DMV after committing 32 years of service there.

Bason was a fun-loving son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, nephew and friend. He easily captured the attention and affections of those around him often making folks laugh with his own humor! Whether it was in public dancing, around co-workers, or displaying his love for cooking in family circles; he was always able to create unique relationships especially with all of his family members. He often said aloud, “I love my family!” This further displayed his wonderful personality and love for everyone.

Bason departed this earth on January 22, 2024 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital (RWJ) in Hamilton, New Jersey.

Preceding him in death are his mother, Charlean Bowser and father, Bason Bowser Sr.; his 1 sister, Elmalean Bowser; and 2 brothers, Kenneth Wayne Bowser and Allen Wall Bowser. He leaves to cherish his fond memory his daughter, Kahlila Seldon; four sisters, Sharonda Bowser and Sheila Bowser, both of Hamilton, NJ, Kathy Harris (Darrick) of Glassboro, NJ, Teresa Bowser of Philadelphia, PA; six brothers, Calvin Bowser (Samantha) of Ewing, NJ, Louis Bowser (Veronica) of Mt.
