It is with heavy hearts that we celebrate the life of Bobbie L. McKnight, affectionately known as "Bullet Bob". Born in Titusville, FL on January 8, 1951, co Booker T. and Violet McKnight, raised with love and care by Calvin D. Green Jr., Bobbie embodied the grace, integrity, and quiet strength that defined a true gentleman. He ran his race, finished his course, and transitioned from labor to reward at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
Bobbie received his education in the Hightstown public school system, graduating from Hightstown High School in 1969, where he excelled in athletics as a member of the varsity basketball, soccer, and track and field teams, demonstrating exceptional talent in all three spores. He later attended Rutgers University and was an active member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Hightstown, New Jersey. On Sundays, he could often be found ushering at the door alongside his beloved mother, Violet McKnight.
Bobbie dedicated 23 years of his career to McGraw Hill and spent 19 years at Grainger before officially retiring in 2014.
Known for his caring, kind and loving nature, Bobbie had a radiant presence, always wearing a smile that could brighten any room. He greeted everyone - friends and strangers alike - with warmth and positivity. As a natural leader, he inspired chose around him with his genuine spirit and unwavering kindness. His infectious smile was a hallmark of his identity, leaving an indelible impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
As we reflect on the life of Bobbie McKnight, let us cherish the memory of his joyous laughter, compassionate heart, and steadfast faith. He has gone on to his eternal home, where peace and happiness abound, leaving behind a legacy of love and inspiration that will endure for generations to come.
Bobbie was preceded in death by his father, Booker T. McKnight Sr.; mother, Violet McKnight; and three brothers, Booker T. Jr., Milton, and Ronnie.
Bobbie leaves co cherish his memory his devoted wife, Yvette; loving daughter, Malikah (Neph Rodriguez); adored grandson, Matteo; dear sister, Viola (Mick Upsher); cherished nephews, Duane (Kira Upsher) and Marcus; treasured nieces, Meredith, Kimmie (Jarod Mosby) and Teresa (Pete D'Artagnan); precious great-niece, Zyaila; cherished great-nephews, Kahdir, Zion, Mason, Jaxon, Anthony and, Marcus Jr.; a large and loving extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins; and his best friend, Nate Sumbry.
Bobbie's life is a testament co kindness, strength, and unwavering love. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Funeral service will be 12pm Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 21 Rev. William L. Powell Dr., Hightstown, NJ, 08520. Calling hours will be 10am until the time of service. Interment will be private.
