Booker T. Washington, Jr. affectionately known as "Cookie", age 81, was born on July 1, 1944, in Modest Town, Virginia. He peacefully departed this life on March 22, 2026 at Clover Meadows Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Booker accepted Christ at an early age in Mappsville, Virginia, at First Baptist Church. As a young man, he relocated to Trenton, New Jersey, where he made his home for 48 years. He dedicated 30 years of service to Reed and Sons Sod Farm and worked various other jobs before his health began to decline.
He was faithful member of Interfaith Tabernacle Church. Booker found joy in simple pleasures such as fishing, watching wrestling, and visiting the Columbus Flea Market.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Booker T. Washington, Sr. and Australia Washington; his brothers, Carol Parker, William James, Leroy, Albert, Rudolph, Lynwood, and George Washington; and his sisters, Rebecca Bell, Carrie Goodman, Joetta Fisher, Novella Shrieves, and Pansey Bloxom.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving sister, Sallie Edwards, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Funeral service will be 11am Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Calvary Pentecostal Church, 471 Parkway Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 10am until the time of service at church. Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ.
