Carmen Jones

When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure. 

With much love spread and many memories shared, our beloved Carmen accepted her angel's invitation into the kingdom on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. As a result, our hearts are less bright but we know the heavens are filled with extra doses of love, joy, peace and laughter. 

Carmen Vanessa Jones, born March 3, 1959 in Trenton, New Jersey to Gwendolyn Jones-Mason and James L. Jones. 

She was educated at Our Lady of Divine Shepherd and Trenton Central High School. Carmen was employed as a Nurses' Aide, a Caregiver, Housekeeper and a babysitter. She also was a caregiver for Frank Johnson. She attended church at Our Lady of Divine Shepherd and First Baptist of Fairforest. 

Carmen was predeceased by her grandmothers Dorothy E. Graham and Kalie Jones; grandfather Mahoney McCoy; great grandfather Cornelius Jones; her father James L. Jones; siblings Carlos and Garland Jones. 

Carmen's memory will be cherished and forever remembered by her mother Gwendolyn Jones-Mason; her children Strarshema of South Carolina, Carlos of South Carolina, Andre "AJ", Crystal Jones of South Carolina; brothers Lionel Jones of Georgia, Cornel Jones of New Jersey; her grandchildren Infinite Jones, Onenaja Jones-Waddell, Anziyah Waddell, Zadie Jones, Naomi Jones, Emmireon Anderson, Andre Jones Jr., T'Aria Parker and Starshema's two sons and granddaughter; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. 

Funeral service will be 1pm Friday, December 2, 2022 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hours will be 11am until the time of service. Interment will be at Colonial Memorial Park Mausoleum, Hamilton, NJ.
