With much love spread and many memories shared, our beloved Carol accepted her angel's invitation into the kingdom on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at Capital Health in Hopewell, New Jersey, As a result, our hearts are less bright but we know the heavens are filled with extra doses of love, joy, peace and laughter.
Carol A. Cox was born Thursday, February 16, 1950 in Cleveland, Ohio to Clayton Sr. and Mamie Lloyd Cox.
Carol started her nursing career at North Princeton Developmental Center, she later worked at Trenton Psychiatric Hospital and retired after over 45 years of nursing.
In her leisure time, Carol enjoyed watching western movies, knitting, taking photos, solving problems, reading and doing research on the computer.
She was preceded in death by Clayton Cox Sr. (Mamie Lloyd Cox); her brothers Clayton Cox Jr., William Cox, David Cox, Daniel Cox; Joan Keith and extended family Kevin Chaneyfield; her grandson l'Jah Cox; a special, nephew William Chew.
Carol's memory will be cherished and forever remembered by her daughter Lisa Cox: her son Anthony (Magee) Cox; her grandchildren Shaquana Mcrae, Kaleo Cox Jamie Hearren, Jamal Cox, Karima Cox, ShaAsia Lassiter, Princess Lassiter and Me'Jah Cox; two sisters Essie Stackhouse-Cox and Cecilia Jones; and a host great grandchildren, great greatgrandchildren, cousins, other relatives.
Funeral service will be 12pm Friday, November 28, 2025 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hours will be 10am until the time of service. Interment will be Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ.
