Charla R. Harmon

Charla "Renee" born in Princeton, NJ where she attended Princeton Public Schools until the family moved to Ewing in 1964 to THE WOODLAND AVE. Renee attended Ewing Public Schools until she graduated in 1974.

Renee did modeling in her younger years but her passion was music and softball. Her music collection includes the original albums from so many groups. She could probably list every one without looking at them as well as tell if one was missing. She loved to dance. If the music was good she was up on her feet. Hence the reason she became part of the Chicago Stepping Community. She spent many of her summer days going from one music festival to another as well as taking trips on the Soul Train and the Fantastic Voyage Cruise.

Renee loved to entertain. She enjoyed having card parties. She loved Spades but Bid Whiz was her go to. Hosting and visiting family and friends brought her great joy. Renee was generous and had a big heart.

Softball, she played a mean first base. It didn't matter where that ball was thrown, she would keep that foot on the bag and stretch to grab the thrown ball. She played for Mary's Beauty Shop. They would beat teams by a football score. Renee was also a world traveler. Every time you turned around she was always en route to the airport. Iceland, Hong Kong, Thailand, Africa, Ghana, Germany, Italy and her last most recent trip to Antarctica. Again, a world class traveler.

Renee worked at Trenton Psychiatric Hospital in the Vroom building until she made the decision to follow her fathers footsteps and join the Air Force. She remained a member of the armed forces for 20 years before retiring in 1995 and settling in Riverdale, GA, right outside of Atlanta. Although retired from the Air Force, Renee went back to work for the federal government with the General Services Administration (GSA). After her second retirement, she continued to educate herself and became an online instructor and substitute teacher. Renee earned her Bachelor's degree while in the Air Force and later earned her Masters and last but not least her Doctorate, all in Business Administration. Renee was also known to help others with their doctoral dissertations.

"Bobby" Harmon; her brother Robert "Buster" Harmon. Renee is predeceased by her mother Janet Hairston-Harmon; her father Robers Renee is leaving behind her son Leonard T Harmon; 3 sisters Robin Harmon-Henry, Tara S. Harmon, and Toni L. Harmon; two brothers Barry L Harmon (Sharon) and Steven J. Harmon; one grandchild Katrelle Harmon; a niece Camille Henry; two nephew Melvin Howard Ill; a great niece Carinne Brown; and several cousins, other relatives as well as a host of friends.

Funeral service will be 12pm Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at Friendship Baptist Church, 111 Perry St., Trenton, NJ 08618 . Calling hours will be 10am until the time of service at the church. Interment will be private.
