Charles Quarles Obituary

On Monday, March 15, 2021, our beloved Charles earned his angel's wings. He answered the call suddenly and took his final flight home to be with the Lord. As a result, our hearts are less bright. but we know the Heavens are filled with extra doses of love, joy, peace and laughter.

Charles Nickolas Quarles, born December 19, 1945 in San Antonio, Texas to John Henry Quarles and Celeste Virginia Goode.

He was a graduate of Princeton Community High School. After high school, Charles entered the military. He served as a corporal in the United States Army. He was honorably discharged after serving from 1965-1981. He was recently employed in security at Bell Telephone in New Orleans.

In his leisure time, Charles loved to sing. He also enjoyed watching Television with his companion Augie, his dog.

He was preceded in death by his parents John Henry Quarles and Celeste Virginia Goode; son Charvis Quarles.

Charles memory will be cherished and forever remembered by his daughter Monica Quarles (Paul), Joy Quarles; his goddaughter Sharma Brown; his sons Jalal and Michael Quarles; granddaughters, Ayanna Charles, Khadiyyah Quarles, Janaye Anderson; grandsons Andre (Naijah), Jalal Jr., Jamri, Javian-ana Josiah; his great grandchildren Nazir, Andre Jr., Nazyah, Joesiah, De'Andre, Nadrea, Noah and Nayla; a host of loved ones and friends.

When you come to the end of the road . and the sun has set on me, I want no rites in a gloom filled room, why cry for a soul set free. Miss me a little-but not too long, and not with your head bowed Iow,  Remember the love that we once shared, Miss me-but let me go. For this is a journey that we all must take, and each must go alone. It's all a part of the Master's plan, a step on the road to home.  when you are lonely and sick at heart, go the the friends we know.  And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds, Miss me-but let me go.
