Clifford Turner, one of four of Gaulden and Sally Turner was born December 5, 1927 in Trenton, NJ.
A resident of Trenton for 93 years, Clifford attended Trenton public schools including Lincoln Jr. high and graduated from Trenton Central High. He was employed by local union 172 and helped build various highways and bridges most notably the Delaware River Scudder Falls bridge. He was a amateur boxer that trained at the Ike Williams boxing gym. He was also an avid artist always creating and sculpting. He was very good with his hands.
He was a former member of Wayne Ave Baptist church where he was baptized.
Clifford departed this life on January 20, 2021 at Helene Fuld Hospital in Trenton, NJ.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gaulden and Sally Turner; his siblings Juanita, Leon and Rudolph Sr.
He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish loving memories, nephews Leon "Butch" Turner, Rudolph Turner, II of New Jersey and G. Robert "Bobby" Watts of Tennessee; nieces Alicia Turner, Joan Franklin, Annette Ross and Debbie Pennant of New Jersey, Linda Watts Hernandez Henderson, and Carolyn Anita Watts Walker of Alabama; cousins Billy, Raymond aka Rongy and Leslie Taylor of New Jersey and a host of grand nieces and nephews. He also leaves his long time companion Lorretta Stewart who will miss him dearly.
Services will be 12-2pm Saturday, January 30, 2021 at the Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Interment will be private.
