Clifton Moses Obituary

Our beloved, Clifton Moses Jr, 76, departed this life on the morning of November 9,2023 at Avalon Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Hamilton Square, NJ.

He was affectionately known as "Poochie" by his family and friends. He was born on September 2, 1947 in Cape Charles, VA to Clifton Alfonso and Sarah Mae Moses, the oldest of 9 children. While a resident of Trenton, he resided most of his life in Cape Charles, VA.

Clifton was a graduate of North Hampton County High School in Cape Charles, VA. He was formerly employed as an over-the-road truck driver. He had an infectious laugh andsrnile. Some of his favorite past times were watching the Eagles, Court TV, talking to family and friends via social media, and traveling to VA with his bro Calvin. Clifton had a great sense of humor, enjoyed cracking jokes and getting a good laugh. He became a baptized Witness of Jehovah and finished his course as a servant of Jehovah.

Clifton was preceded in death by his loving parents Clifton and Sarah Mae Moses, a son Brian Williams Moses, a brother Leroy Moses, and sisters Aleta Ann Moses, Linda Moses, Marshell & Marjorie Moses.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Johnella Moses of 33 years and his 7 children: Chanda Moses-Short (Jasper) of Chesapeake, VA, Caulette Moses- Turner (Paul) of Windsor, VA, LaSean Moses, Tyreke Moses, Jonathan, Desiree, and Danielle all of Detroit, Michigan. He had nine brothers and sisters, four of whom will also cherish his memories: Faye Powell (Daniel Sr.), Calvin Moses (Pamela), Gloria Moses-Council (Samuel Jr.), Caffie Manning (James); grandchildren: Chrishauntez (Ekie), Krishantia (Krissi), Paul (PJ), and Breasia; great grandchildren: Imeil and Kahleah; nieces and nephews: Tony Moses, Michael Moses (Theresa), Manuel Moses.Andre Moses, Jermaine Moses (Stephanie), Daniel Powell Jr. (KL ha), Keisha Dvous (Mark), Desiree Moses, Kia Taylor (George), Samantha Moses-Bowser (Calvin), Kena Moses, Jermar Moses (Erica), Terrell Moses, (Akyrra), Taren Moses, Danyelle Powell, Dion Powell and a host of other relatives; fa-mily friend Paulette Williams (of Cheriton, VA), Harry Rowley (of Philadelphia, PAl and best childhood friend William Brown (of Cape Charles, VA) and a host of other friends.

 

Funeral service will be 1pm Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 117 Oakland St. Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hours will be 12pm until the time of service. Interment will be private. Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home.
