Corlette Brenda Miller was born February 14, 1948, to the late Mary L. Dean and Amos Dean Sr. She was raised by her grandmother Flora Rambough. Brenda, as she is affectionately known, transitioned on February 27, 2025, at Capital Health Regional Campus in Trenton, New Jersey.
Brenda was educated in the Trenton Public Schools and graduated from Trenton Central High School. She was employed by both the Ewing Township and Trenton Public School systems from September 1979 until she retired in March 2004.
Brenda accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age. She attended Trenton Church of Christ where she sang in the choir. She later joined Union Baptist Church in Trenton, New Jersey to worship with her husband, Johnnie F. Miller, under the leadership of Pastor Simeon Spencer. While at the church, Brenda selflessly served on the Homeless Ministry.
Brenda had the gift of gab and she never met a stranger. She loved to crochet and give everyone she met a blanket or crochet booties. When she was not crocheting, she enjoyed taking pictures and watching NBA basketball games.
In addition to her parents and grandparents, she was predeceased by her siblings: Amos Dean Jr. and Evette Rambough; and two nephews: Jermaine Lee Dean and Jermaine A. Dean.
Brenda's memory will be cherished by her husband and true love of 60 years, Johnnie F. Miller Sr; her children: Cynthia Miller of Ewing, Johnnie (Archel) Miller Jr. of Swedesboro, New Jersey and a special nephew, who she raised as her own, Kendall (Yvonne) Dean of Tampa, Florida; four grandchildren: Shante, Aaron, Arquel and Johnathon Miller; two great grandchildren: Kyrie Miller and Skylar Graves; her .siblings: Jeanette Dean of New Jersey, James (Edith) Dean of North Carolina, Darryl Dean of Georgia, Lawrence Dean of New Jersey, Marcus and Marvin Dean of Pennsylvania, Anthony (Jayne)New Jersey, Marcus and Marvin Dean of Pennsylvania, Anthony (Jayne) Dean of Pennsylvania and Angela Glanton of Pennsylvania; step-brother: Steven Hyman; sister-in-laws: Renee Dean and Juanita (Curt) Miller; godchild Kim Mathis; a very special sister friend: JoAnn Cooper-Harris; caregiver: Iris Lovett; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be 11am Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Union Baptist Church, 301 Pennington Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hours will be 9am until the time of service. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ.
