Crystal Geneva Naomi Brown transitioned peacefully on December 30, 2025, at her home in Bear, Delaware. Born in Trenton, New Jersey, where she was a resident for 67 years before moving to Newark, Delaware, then to Bear, Delaware.
Crystal attended Trenton Public schools and graduated from Trenton High School. Following high school, Crystal became employed by the US Postal Service where she worked for over 28 years, as a clerk and then a manager, before retiring due to illness.
Crystal loved the Lord completely and was a faithful member of Courtney Temple Church of God in Christ (formerly Holy Trinity Church of God in Christ) for her entire life. Sister Moore (married name) as she was affectionately known, was very active in church, committing her services to multiple ministries and auxiliaries including the Kitchen Committee, Worship Choir, Senior Choir, and Usher Ministry. She loved any opportunity to fellowship with her church family, greeting everyone with a smile, a kind work, and a reminder of the goodness of the Lord. Crystal when well, enjoyed traveling to the annual Convention in Memphis, Tennessee. She loved to dance since childhood and participated in different styles of dance training while growing up, and taught praise dancing while a member of Agape Fellowship Church.
Crystal was a passionate world traveler along with her partner and Mother Delores Brown, as well as other family members and friends. Each summer, she helped pack her mother's car (station wagon) and BIG conversion van with nieces, nephews {learning to drive), close friends, and plenty of laughter before setting off on another unforgettable road trip. Whether driving the open roads of the continental United States and Canada or being overheard singing joyfully in an airport terminal, she embraced every single journey with excitement. Her favorite destinations included the Caribbean, Alaska, Africa, Italy, and South America - proof that if there was a place to see, Crystal did her best to see it.
She was predeceased by Lulu A. Jones (grandmother); Delores S. Brown (mother); Lonnie J. Brown (father). Crystal was a mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many who will miss her dearly. Her beautiful life will be forever cherished in the lives of her son: Glenn T Brown (Tanesha) of Bear, DE; brothers and sisters Lonnie J. Brown Jr. (Ella) of Englewood, NJ, Michael A. Smith of New York, NY, Charles A. Smith Jr. (Sandra) of Indianapolis, IN, Linda Smith of Ewing, NJ, Deborah Smith of Trenton, NJ; grandchildren Glenn Brown Jr., Robert Deshazior, Breanah Romeo and Mike Romeo; great-grandchildren Jayceon Romeo, Nathaliyah Brown, Arriyah Brown, Brayden Poulson and Bailee Poulson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
Funeral service will be 11am Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Courtney Temple Church of God, 740 Pennington Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 10am until the time of service at the church. Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ.
