Darlene Benjamin

With much love spread and many memories shared, our beloved Darlene accepted her angel’s invitation into the kingdom on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Hamilton Grove Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. As a result, our hearts are less bright but we know the heavens are filled with extra doses of love, joy, peace and laughter.

Darlene Benjamin was born January 8, 1965 in Trenton, New Jersey to June Benjamin and Leroy Benjamin She remained a lifelong Trenton resident.

She was educated at a special needs school and attended the Arc Mercer Day program where she enjoyed listening to music, finger painting and participating in other arts and crafts.

In her leisure time, Darlene enjoyed eating cheese doodles and watching television commercials. She could not speak but could give a loud shout out to get your attention.

She was preceded in death by her mother June Benjamin; her father Leroy Benjamin; a nephew Richard S. Blackwell.
 
Darlene’s memory will be cherished and forever remembered by her sisters Ellen Blackwell of Trenton, NJ, Ruby (David) Jones, Philadelphia, PA and Dorothy (Keith) Teel, Trenton, NJ; her niece with whom she lived Shameka Blackwell; her great nieces with whom she lived Quasherah Blackwell, Quadijah Blackwell; a host of other nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.
