Darryl Jones

When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure.

With much love spread and many memories shared, our beloved Darryl accepted his angel's invitation into the kingdom on Friday, May 26, 2023 at Capital Health Systems at Fuld in Trenton, New Jersey. As a result, our hearts are less bright but we know the heavens are filled with extra doses of love, joy, peace and laughter.

Darryl Shaley Jones was born May 27, 1956 at Jacobi Hospital in Bronx, New York to Robert and Evelyn Jones.

He was educated at Stevenson High School. Darryl was an scholar and athlete. He was an avid track and field runner at Stevenson and Housing Authority Track Team. After high school Darryl enetered the military where he served in the United States Army, (RA PV1). He was employed at State Button Company as a Dyer.

Darryl attended the Saint Augustine Catholic Church. In his leisure time, Darryl enjoyed the outdoors fishing. He loved watching baseball and he was an avid fan of the New York Yankees.

He was preceded in death by: parents: Robert and Evelyn Jones (Kellam); twin brothers Lawrence "Larry" and Terrence "Terry" Jones; sister Cynthia "Cindy" Jones.

Darryl's memory will be cherished and forever remembered by brothers Kevin Jones (Laura), Lauren Jones; a sister Teresa Jones (Irvin); one uncle "Junie" (Betty) Kellam; a host of cousins, nieces Tiffany Jones, Chelsea Jones, Khiara Jones; nephews Maurice Jones, Keith Jones, Brandon Jones; many great nieces and great nephews; his special cousins whom we grew up with and called siblings Deacon (Mitzu) Jones, Alvin (Judy) Jones, Vanessa (John) Jones-Fontaine, Adrienne Medina, Deborah Jones, Deborah Davis and Yvonne Simms.

Funeral service will be 10am Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618 . Calling hour will be 9am until the time of service. Interment will be 10am Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Washington Crossing National cemetery, Newtown, PA.
