When someone you Jove becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure.
Darvin has earned his wings. He answered the call on Sunday, November 28, 2021 in Trenton, New Jersey and took his final flight home. As a result, our hearts are less bright, but we know the heavens are filled with extra doses of love, joy, peace and laughter.
Darvin Henderson-Brooks, affectionately known as "Dinky", was born August 28, 1990 in Trenton, New Jersey to Monica and Kenny Skinner. He remained a lifelong area resident.
He was educated in the Ewing Township Public School System. He furthered his education while attending Monmouth University where he earned his Associate's Degree. He continued his education, earning a Bachelor's Degree from Seton Hill University. He was a man who wanted to help children better themselves, so he established Playmaker Athletics. It was his passion, and Dinky loved it. He also enjoyed watching football, and he was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Darvin was a loving, kind and hardworking man who loved his family, and he was a people-person to all. He loved the Lord, and he was a member New Salem Baptist Church.
He was predeceased by his father Kenny Skinner; his grandfather Henry Brooks Sr.
Darvin's memory will be cherished and forever remembered by his mother Monica Brooks-Skinner; his son Xavier Thomas; his brothers Ronald Carmichael (Natasha) and Rashad Daniels; his sisters Charonda Henderson, Lorraine Smith and Jeraneise Cherry; his uncles Anthony Henderson-Brooks, Joe Henderson, Bernard Henderson, Bryant Henderson, Maurice Henderson, James T. Brooks and Nathaniel Brooks; aunts Antionette Brooks and Stephanie Brooks; special cousins Sharif Brooks, Talvis Brooks and Tamara Brooks, Shay Brooks, Passion Howard, Chloe Brooks, Seth, Emoni Henderson, Maurice Henderson and Maurice Justiniano; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 1pm Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave, Trenton, NJ08618. Calling hour will be 12pm until the time of service. Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ.
