Daveigh Brooks Obituary

Daveigh Aaron Brooks was born to Aaron and Tiffany Brooks on August 25, 1997 at Mercer Hospital in Trenton, NJ. He departed this life on Monday October 10th, 2022 in Ewing, NJ.

Daveigh attended the Trenton Public Schools System and Burlington City High School. His education continued at Bloomfield College in Bloomfield, NJ, and he served in the United States Navy where he received an honorable discharge.

Daveigh was an excellent athlete. As anyone who knew Daveigh knows, basketball was his favorite sport. There were many places where he played basketball in the state. Daveigh, however, found his passion for track and field in the 11th grade after a challenge from his cousin Jada. As a freshman, he ran many meets and discovered his groove in 400-meter and 800-meter runs. Daveigh was crowned champion of the Men's Central Group 1 400-meters and 800-meters as a senior. After winning these titles, he continued to compete and became the Men's Group 1- 400 Meter State Champion.

His track prowess earned him a scholarship at Bloomfield College in Bloomfield, NJ. And, despite the summer break, Daveigh did not lose a step. As a result of his races, Daveigh won awards such as Athlete Of The Week, Athlete Of The Month, Rookie Of The Month, and other athletic honors. Daveigh was awarded the prestigious CACC rookie of the year award in 2018.

Throughout his life, Daveigh shone bright as a beacon of light and was an inspiration to his friends and family. Whenever you would be feeling down or even upset with him, all he would have to do is flash his infectious smile. His dimples could change the atmosphere. Daveigh was known as the encourager. If you were in a hole and he could not help you get out, he would climb in the hole so that you would not be alone. Daveigh was not just a jewel, he was a treasure. He was the definition of a true friend.

Daveigh showed his siblings tough love but they meant the world to him. He always said what needed to be said even if you did not want to hear it. He never missed a chance to uplift and encourage his siblings. Daveigh was the self appointed oldest sibling and he lived up to his role. He did not take his role as a brother lightly. He loved his older brother Deyvon and was so proud of him for becoming the defensive back coach of Peddie School. Daveigh loved his twin sister and roommate Deyana. While living together they enjoyed listening, singing, and dancing to his beloved oldies.

Daveigh “LOVED” his nephew, Aaron Josiah (AJ), and he was so excited to become an uncle. Daveigh and AJ were best friends! They loved each other, and their love will live forever through AJ.

Daveigh was a jack of all trades and a lifelong learner, he was employed as a laborer at Renmarc Home Improvement.

Daveigh was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Ralph Jordan and Retha Mae Page, as well as his Godfather Apostle D.C. Thomas Sr.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory his parents Aaron and Tiffany Brooks; brother Deyvon Brooks and twin sister Deyana Brooks; paternal grandparents Ronnie Brooks (Christina), Patricia Brooks, Godmother Pastor Stephanie Thomas; nephew Aaron Josiah Brooks, God siblings Ramiz Thomas, Atiya Thomas, DavaLynn Thomas-Patton, David Thomas Jr., Davorea Thomas, Amber Vaughan, Alexandria Poole and an abundance of other loving God siblings.
