Debra Carr Obituary

Debra Carr departed her life on February 9, 2025, at Capital Health Regional Medical Center, in Trenton, New Jersey, with her family members at her bedside.

Debra was born on January 13, 1956, in Trenton, New Jersey. She was a lifelong resident ofTrenton, New Jersey and was formerly employed by the College of New Jersey. Debra Carr was educated in the Trenton-Public School system and a graduate of Trenton Central High School. She was intellectually gifted at reading.

Her lifetime compassions extended to community outreach for the past 30 years. Debra was a beloved member of the Trenton community. She dedicated her time to being a Co-Founder in the 1990s for Grandparents Need More Than a Hug, lnc. An Avid member of Women for Hope outreach center and was a part of the ESFL committee of East Trenton and pa rit cipated in many other various organizations throughout her lifetime. She enjoyed participating in any community event that called for her service. She was known for her contributions to the community that left a lasting impact, and she will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Debra enjoyed hosting gatherings and cookouts for family and friends. Her family was her pride and joy. She would always open her door to those in need. She was truly a radiant sole. Who is known to be the sweetest person with a kind heart. She knew the right words to lift your spirit and didn't mind telling you like it should be truthfully. She would always greet you with a Good Morning and Love you text messages every morning. She always made you feel welcome in her presence. She had a unique mix of candor, honesty, and wit. A conversation with her will bring both laughter and contemplation.

She is predeceased io death by her maternal grandmother, Bertha Mincey, of Fayetteville, North Carolina; paternal grandmother, Mary Eliza Carr of Rocky Point, North Carolina; mother, Mary 
Elizabeth Hall-Carr and father, Herbert Lee Carr Sr. Brother,James Earl Hall; niece,Jolisa Marshal all from Trenton, New Jersey.

She leaves to mourn four children, Lakeishia (Alphonso) Cooper-Sarkpa, Randy D. Cooper, Deon J. Cooper, and Patsy S. Cooper; eight grandchildren, Erneishia Marks, lasia Cooper,] a'Qian Cain, Malachi Cooper, Liyelle Cooper, Isiah Ellis, Bashawn (Shy a sia) Johnson and Tiffany Moss; Niece, Shakira Carr-Oliver, Nephew, Herbert Lee Carr, Ill; Bother, Herbert Lee (Dorice) Carr II and Raysean Sykes; six great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, stepsisters, in-laws and closet friends. She also leaves behind her fond memories, mother-in-law, Patsy A. McNeil.

 

Funeral service will 12pm Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 11am until the time of service. Interment will be at Colonial Memorial Park, Hamilton, NJ.
