Delores Threadgill affectionately known as, "Monk" was born November 17, 1948. in Sumter, South Carolina to the late Sarah Mae and Richard B. Butler. On August 4,2022, she accepted the angels' invitation to join our Lord in Paradise. At an early age of 6 years old the family relocated to Philadelphia. PA where she later accepted Christ. She attended Philadelphia public schools and Simon Gratz Highschool.
Delores began working at Philadelphia Psychiatric Hospital, where she worked for over 20 plus: years, while working there she met the love of her life. William Threadgill SR., whom she married and moved to Trenton, NJ.
She continued her studies at Mercer County Community College in Trenton, NJ where she studied mental health. As she advanced in her career, she then attended Villa Nova University in Philadelphia, PA, where she received a certification in Clinical Mental Health.
Delores became an active member of various churches including New Salem Baptist churh in Trenton, NJ, and Miller Memorial Baptist hurch in Philadelphia. PA. After leaving Miller Memorial Baptist Church he began a fellowship at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Trenton, NJ. After an extended number of years working within the mental health division, she retired as an Intensive Care Manager at Philadelphia Mental Health Care. Her hobbies included traveling and sewing. where she was passionate about creating interior designs. In addition, to assisting her Uncle Buck, at Sinkler Auto Repair as a Bookkeeper and Tow Truck Driver. She .especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was predeceased in death by her husband, William Threadgill SR., One child, 'lauricee Darnell, and Stepfather James H. Colvin "Jim-Jim" .
Delores leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Stephanie Jackson of Lindenwold, NJ. two sons Waller Butler and William Threadgill Jr. of Trenton, NJ. and one Stepson Henry Wright of Indianapolis, .1 daughters in-law Lenore Butler, Tasha Threudgill. and Martha Wright. and 1 son-in law Tyrone Jackson. Siblings Minnie McBride (Tyrone) of Sharon Hill, PA: Gloria Garmon (Barry) of Willingboro. NJ; John Butler and Feldon Butler of Philadelphia, PA. 8 sisters-in-law and 7 bother-in-law.
She leaves a legacy of 16 grandchildren, 21 wonderful great grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews. aunts, relatives, and friends. Delores also leave. behind very special aunts, lnes Stewart of North Wales, PA. and Elaine Sinkler of Philadelphia, PA.
Funeral service will be 11am Friday, August 12, 2022 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618 . Calling hours will be 9am until the time of service.
