Denise Brooks Obituary

When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure. 

Denise Brooks was born in 1948 in Louisville, Kentucky to Stewart Cain (Father) and Christine Tinsley (Mother). She was educated in the Louisville Public School system. Upon graduation from Mary Hurst High School, she took Business courses at Bry & Stranton School of Business in Louisville, Kentucky.

In 1967, she migrated Washington, DC for a greater opportunity. She worked at the District of Columbia. General Hospital as a kitchen worker. In 1970, she moved to Trenton, NJ to find better employment opportunities. 

After establishing a Trenton residence, she was introduced to her first church service when she heard singing inside the church but made the decision to go to the church the following week. The church she visited was Holy Cross Church. officially became a member in 1971. She faithfully served Under the leadership

Bishop J.B Walker and served in various capacities. Also, under the tutelage of P.G. Leonard, Emma Howell, Mother Lane, and Mother Mary, she gained her spirit development. 

In 1984, she was employed with the State of New Jersey, Department of Treasury as a data analyst. While working as a data analyst, she started attending United Christian College in Trenton, where she became a student, teacher and later her Doctorate Degree in Divinity. After 30 years of service with the department treasury, she retired in 2014. Denise spent her free time gardening. making gift bas­kets, shopping at flee markets and antiques shops, spending time with her grandchildren and cooking for her family and friends. 

She is predeceased in death by: Stewart Cain, (Father) Christine Tinsley (Mother) Willie L. Brooks (Husband) Gene Cain (brother) Pearl Howell (Sister-in-law) he is survived by James Howell (brother) Sarah Woolrich (Sister) Elizabeth Godman (Sister) Edward Cain (brother) Aaron Morrow (son) Filomeno Cuino (son) Cristal • Cuino (daughter-In-law), Anona Morrow (granddaughter) Makai Cuino (grandson Quincy Cuino (grandson) Musa Morrow (grandson) and a host of nieces, nephews cousins, and friends.

We thought of you with love today but that is nothing new,
We thought about you yesterday and days before that too
We think of you in silence we often speak your name,
All we have are memories and your picture in a frame. 

Your memory is our keepsake with which well never part. 

Cod has you in His keeping we have you in our hearts.

Funeral service will be 11am Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at New Holy Cross of Christ, 500 East State Street, Trenton, NJ 08609. Calling hour will be 9am until the time of service. Interment will be at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ. Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home.
