Obituary

Donna Jean White, age 73, daughter of the late Milan White Sr. and Ida L. White was born on July 31, 1949, in Edwards (Beaufort County), NC and gained her wings on May 6, 2023 at Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, NJ.

Donna relocated to Trenton, NJ with her family in 1955, where she attended Trenton Public School System until her family moved to Princeton, NJ in 1971.  While living in Princeton, NJ, she was employed at Princeton Medical Center. In 1980, Donna moved back to Trenton, NJ where she remained a current resident. She then was employed at the State of New Jersey, West Windsor-Plainsboro School District, and lastly NJ State Police until her retirement in 2008. After retirement, Donna started working as a caregiver for the Notterman family until the beginning of 2023.

Donna was a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Trenton, NJ, where she served on the Pastor’s Aide and Missionary Board. She also was a member of the Urban League Guild, Trenton Union Chapter.  She had a contagious smile that would light up the room.  Donna enjoyed hosting and cooking during the holidays for her family and close friends.  She was famous for her cakes and was often referred to as “The Cake Lady”.  She was the epitome of a giver and was always willing to extend grace to anyone in need.  Community service was very important to her, and she served with many organizations throughout the community.  Her motto for life was, “It doesn’t cost you nothing to be kind”. Donna was devoted to her family and was a woman of great class and elegant. No matter when you seen her, she was always dressed to perfection. Donna’s sweet and gentle spirit will forever be remembered by all who knew and loved her dearly.

Donna was predeceased by her siblings: Mary Marie Rodman-Anthony, Winfort E. White, Lois Moore, and Julia White; and a longtime companion, Larry Augustine.

She leaves to cherish all her loving memories to her two daughters, Karren L. Taylor (Michael) of Trenton, NJ and Sherita White (McKinley Tyler) of Chester, PA; her grandchildren: Kimberly Oliver of Lawrenceville, NJ, Trevor Taylor of Morrisville, PA, and Alaina Stepherson of Chester, PA; five sisters: Sylvia Allen of Trenton, NJ, Eleanor Alvin (Gary) of Trenton, NJ, Violet White of Trenton, NJ, Renee Jackson of Trenton, NJ, and Sandra White of Ewing, NJ; two brothers, Dennis White (Annette) of Forestville, MD and Milan White, Jr. (Vanessa Stephens) of Trenton, NJ; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
