Dorothy has truly and sincerely touched the hearts of many. On September 11, 2021, at approximately 5:00 A.M. at Virtual Memorial Hospital in Mt Holly, NJ. Dorothy Ingram was called into eternity by her God. Dorothy was born February 12, 1932 to the late Commodore and Lucille White in Jersey City, NJ. Dorothy Ingram was the 3rd of four children.
Dorothy lived in Trenton, NJ and attended the Trenton Public Schools. Dorothy was a beautician and for numerous years as a manager for New Method Cleaners in her hometown. Doris was affectionately known as “Nana” to her grand and great grandchildren. Mrs. Dorothy Ingram was loved and respected by all and usually had kind words for all, until you rubbed her the wrong way (smile). We will truly miss “Nana” standing in the hallway looking out her front door.
Dorothy attended Wayne Avenue Baptist Church in Trenton, NJ for 30 plus years and was a member of the senior choir. Dorothy did accept Jesus Christ as her Lord and personal savior.
Dorothy was married to the late Herbert Ingram and from that beautiful union they had three loving and respectful children. Herbert Ingram of Burlington, NJ, Paulette Allison of Trenton, NJ and the late Kenny Ingram of Trenton, NJ. One daughter in-law Frances Ingram and one son in-law the late Michael Allison. Special nephew/ god-son Thaddeus white (Sierra ). Four Brothers in law Julius Ingram and Alton Ingram of NY, Buddy Ingram of Trenton, NJ. Jackie Ingram of Fitzgerald, GA. Two sisters in law Mary Ingram and Carolyn Ingram of Fitzgerald GA.
Eight grandchildren Andre Ingram, Rasheen Ingram, Poppy Allison, Rosalind Ingram, Bernice Ingram, Herbert Ingram jr, Bernard Ingram, Shalonda Williams and Micheal Williams. Many great-grandchildren , three great great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.
Doris was predeceased by two sisters Lucille Curry and Gladys White and one brother James Albert White.
Funeral service will be 11am Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Wayne Avenue Baptist Church, 30 Wayne Ave, Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 10am until the time of service. Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ. Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home.
