Dorothy V. Wise

Dorothy Vernice Wise, of Trenton, NJ, was born October 3, 1954 in Appling County, GA to the late Leon and Maude Wise. She was affectionately known to everyone as Dot. Dorothy peacefully departed this life on Friday, October 31, 2025, at home. Dorothy was educated in the Trenton School District, She accepted the Lord at a very early age and was baptized at the Bible Way Church of God in Christ. 

Dorothy was employed by the Mercer County Geriatric Center for 35 years until she retired. Dorothy was a member of the Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. She will be remembered f9r assisting her mother, Maude Lee Wise, in preparing food for Sunday family gatherings, as well as for her caretaking skills for family. She was also known for her affectionate laugh and for showing love to everyone.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her two sisters, Martha Williams and Fannie Wise; one brother, Fred Wise, Sr.; and one grandchild, Ava Vernice Wise.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Mark Anthony and Shahid Shante Wise of Trenton, NJ; three brothers, Wayne of Tampa, Florida, Frankie of Trenton, NJ, and Rev. Darnell K. Wise (Shameka) of Chesterfield, NJ; six sisters, Lourine Ware of Burlington, NJ, Helen Miller of Levittown, PA, and Joyce, Devoura, Constance, and Tawanda Wise, all of Trenton, NJ; and seven grandchildren, Tyni'quwa Bender, Jesai

Wise, Zack Wise, Mariely's Campos, Jayce Moore, Ar'mani Wise, and Shahid Wise, Jr. She is also survived by her lifelong friend, Lee Otis Leslie, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family.

Funeral service will be 12pm Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 150 N. Clinton Ave., Trenton, NJ 08609. Calling hour will be 11am until the time of service. Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ.
