Earnest Fowler Obituary

Earnest Fowler was born December 26, 1936 to the late Cula Bell Henry, and J. W. Fowler. He peacefully transitioned from this life on Sunday August 2, 2020 with his loving wife and family by his side.

Earnest graduated from Oakhill High School in Sylvester Georgia. After graduating, he moved to Trenton New Jersey but traveled back to Sylvester to marry his high school sweetheart.

Upon his return to Trenton, he entered the workforce starting at Trenton Psychiatric Hospital in the Vroom building which later became the Ann Klein Forensic Center. He retired from Ann Klein Forensic Center in 1998 after 40 years of dedicated service. He was also an entrepreneur who owned his own part time business including a Texaco gas station and the Ernie’s Towing Service which held a contract with AAA.

Earnest was preceded in death by his parents Cula Bell Henry and J.W. Fowler, daughter Vernita Richardson, brother Arthur Fowler and son in law Charles Harrison.

His most enjoyed hobbies included cooking (He had a special recipe for his barbecue sauce that he refused to share.) shopping (so he could be sharply dressed), styling in his latest Cadillac, playing cards and his lottery numbers, bowling, visiting the casino and spending time with his great grandchildren and family.

Fondly known as everyone’s Pop-Pop, his memories will be cherished and remembered by his devoted wife of 63 years, Nettie, who he affectionately called Susie, his daughter Frances Harrison, granddaughter Tiana (James) Smith, great grandchildren James, Alaina and Joel, son in law Roy (Dawana) Richardson, sisters Ruby and Deane and a host of relatives and close friends.
