Edward A. Atkins Sr. was born in Trenton, NJ on June 8, 1958 to the 1ate1Jlfy M-. Austin and Carlton Killman. Eddie was the oldest of 7 children and the most hard headed. He departed this life on August 26, 2025 at Cooper Hospital in Camden, NJ.
Eddie was educated in the Trenton Public School System where he picked up the gift of ab. He could talk his way out of any situation, at any given time. He spent a few years in the US Army as a
Paratrooper, later went on to becoming a NJ Corrections Officer before he found his love for driving trucks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lilly M. Austin and Carlton Killman; grandmother Helen Bell (Woodrow); grandfather Robert Atkins Sr.; daughter Tamyrria Houseton.
Eddie leaves to mourn his first wife Arlene Atkins; his son Edward Atkins Jr.; daughter Catriesha Atkins; his granddaughter Makyia Decree; grandsons Corey Decree Jr., Cameron Tucker and Caleb Tucker; a great grandson Makai DeCree- Rodriguez; his siblings Charles Atkins, Christine Hewitt (Roosevelt), Deborah Atkins, Darlene Murphy (Ethian), Sammy Atkins and James Atkins; uncles Robert Atkins Jr. and James "Curly" Douglas (Sue) and aunt Alma Atkins; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family Cadrisha Arlies and Family.
To know him is to love him and his memories will forever be cherished!
Funeral service will be 11am Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 10am until the time of service. Interment will be private.
