When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure.
Born June 13, 1973 in Buffalo, N.Y., where his father was attending law school. In 1976 Edward lived in Pennington, N.J. and attended Pennington Grammar school. In 1980 Edward resided at Princeton Community Village (PCV) and attended Little Brook elementary school, John Witherspoon Middle school and attended Princeton University High School where he played football all four years as tailback and defensive back.
He graduated from Princeton High School Class of 1991. Edward was also outstanding in Martial Arts (Judo), he practiced in Kingston, N.J. Rte. 27. Edward went on to attend Cazenovia College in New York for one year. He later obtained his Associates Degree from Mercer County Community College. Edward gave individual golf lessons to children of Mercer County. He also taught golf collectively to the youth at Summer Camps. Including his niece, Jayda while at Camp Promise.
Edward often worked odd jobs as a handy man (Lamar Gibson). He worked as a bouncer at McGuinn' Place in Lawrenceville, NJ and at The' Anchor in Trenton, NJ. He was fortunate enough to attain high end (upscale) proper etiquette, while working at a prestigious restaurant at the Princeton Market Fair. He worked in the kitchen at Applebee's near Quaker Bridge Mall on Route 1. Before he died he worked short-term at FedEx in Edison, NJ and in the kitchen at Princeton University.
Edward is predeceased by his Maternal and Paternal Grandparents. Edward leaves behind his Father: Edward A. McEwen III, his Mother: Janet Locklear McEwen, his older sister: Janet R. McEwen, and a younger brother: Eric A. McEwen (Felicia). Nephews: Jared, Jarel and Nasir. Nieces: Imani, Jayda and Naijae. His Great niece: Kianalis August McEwen. His god parents: Wil and Imogene Hines, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
Funeral service will be 11am Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 10am until the time of service. Interment will be private.
