It is with heavy hearts that we celebrate the life of Elizabeth Edmonya Wilson, affectionately known as "Liz". Born in McKinley Hospital in Trenton, New Jersey on Wednesday, July 25, 1934, to Elizabeth Groomes. Elizabeth embodied the grace, integrity, and quiet strength that defined a true woman. She ran her race, finished her course, and transitioned from labor to reward on Saturday, June 11, 2025.
She graduated from Trenton Central High School but continued her education later in life proudly finishing college for computers at Mercer Community College at age 75.
Elizabeth had many jobs centered around her passion for people. Devoting much of her time to being a home health aid, occupational therapist and an after school teacher.
Elizabeth was devoted to helping others. Spending much of her time crocheting blankets for family, friends and newborns at Trenton hospitals. In her spare time she enjoyed watching old westerns, "Murder She Wrote" and playing games like mahjong, solitaire and hidden objects on her computer.
She was predeceased by: her grandmother Rose A. Wilson; mother Elizabeth Groomes; daughter: Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Wilson; son: Robert "Bobbie" K. Wilson and many other loved family members.
A Viewing will be held from 12-2pm Monday, June 23, 2025 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ..
