With profound love and heartfelt gratitude. we celebrate the beautiful life of Elizabeth Garrett-Bobb, who peacefully entered eternal rest or Saturday. June 13. 2026. at the age of 94. Born on May 2, 1932 in Weston Georgia, Elizabeth was raised with the values of faith. hard work. and family. She later made Trenton, New Jersey, her home, where she lived for more than 70 years, building a life filled with love, service, and lasting memories.
Known affectionately as "Mom Mom Liz," "Nana,"and to her sisters as "Lil," Elizabeth was the heart of her family. She had an incredible memory and could recall the phone numbers of family and friends without ever looking them up. She treasured staying connected with those she loved and never missed an opportunity to check in with her family; Elizabeth dedicated many years of compassionate service as a nurse's aide at Tenacre Foundation in Princeton, New Jersey, before retiring. She was also an entrepreneur who started her own at home daycare and invested in real estate while raising her family with strength, grace, and determination.
A former church member and participant at Friendship Baptist Church, where she served on the usher board. Elizabeth enjoyed traveling, gardening, and spending quality time with family and friends. She especially loved preparing homemade southern meals for family and children in the neighbor. Whether sharing stories offering wisdom or simply enjoying being together, she found her greatest happiness surrounded by those she loved.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Ostine and Exie Garrett, her husband, Theodore Bobb; her sisters, Willie Rutt Garrett, Rushiebell Garrett, Evelyn Baldwin, and Thelma Gaye; her nephew Ricky Gaye: cousins, Ceola Lowe, Rosie Lee Thompkins, and Clemmie Thompkins: and other beloved family members who welcomed her into eternal rest.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her sister, Ruby Garrett, loving children, Thomas Bobb Dorothy). Karriem Bevah (Barbara), Shirley Bobb, Mark Bobb. and Tammy Garrett-Williams (Calvin): grandchildren, Dion, Karriem (Kenya), Naimah, Khadijah, Ashley, Matthew, Crissy, and Vivica; great-grandchildren, Torian Brittanv, Dion. Kra, Devin. Quenton, Tevon, Naila, Zola, and Matteo: special nieces, Jackie, Bonnie, Berniece, Carolyn, Roeshell, and Gwen (GA): bonus daughter, Darlene Thornton; and a host of cousins. nieces and nephews.
Although our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that the love Elizabeth shared will continue to live on through every lesson she taught every memory she created, and every life she touched. Her legacy of strength, compassion, and devotion to family will never be forgotten "Well done, good and faithful servant."
Funeral service will be 11am Thursday, June 25, 2026 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 10am until the time of the service. Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ.
