Ella Harrison Obituary

After 90 years of making us laugh, bringing us joy, and sharing her love, our beloved "Mommy Ella" accepted her wings on July 28, 2020. She peacefully departed this life in the comfort of her home with her family by her side.

Ella Grace Harrison was born May 16, 1930, in Princeton, NJ to the late Harry and Marie Williams.

She was educated in the Princeton Public School system. She worked and retired from Progressive Life Insurance Company.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Marie Williams, her husband Archibald Harrison and her loving son, Archibald T. Harrison Sr. '

Ella Grace Harrison was a devoted wife, committed mother, doting grandmother and great grandmother. A woman of faith, a generous and unselfish soul who not only believed in the theory that it takes a village to raise a child, she at times was a one-woman village that reached out, took in and raised many of us.

She was a long-time member of St. John's Baptist Church. She also was an Eastern Star, 1973 Worthy Matron, Aaron Lodge 8, Daughter of Isis. Ella enjoyed large family gatherings, playing bingo and listening to her spirituals. She loved attending and supporting sporting events of family members. When "Mommy Ella" cooked, we all came running! Especially for her famous macaroni and cheese, succulent ham and homemade apple and sweet potato pies.

Ella's memories will be cherished and remembered by her brother, Donaldson Williams, four children, Valerie (Clarence) Willets, Duncan (Sharon) Harrison, Michelle (Joseph) Porter, Terrance Bailey and daughter-in-law Janet Harrison. 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren. She also had a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. .

We will truly miss her but will always remember this great family matriarch and continue her legacy by living our lives in a way that will make her proud. Well done Ella Harrison, well done.
