Elwood Lyals

Elwood Lyals was born in Trenton, New Jersey on August 10,1952, to the late Mildred Schruby and Hermon Lyals, and was raised by the late Lauraine Schruby. He departed this earth on March 1,2022, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. 

Elwood was a lifelong resident of Trenton, New Jersey. He attended Trenton Central High School. He was certified with Tiger International Security Services and became a Security Officer for the State of New Jersey. 

In addition to his parents, Elwood was predeceased by a sister, Jacqueline Lyals McCrary. 

He leaves to cherish his fond memories: five sons, Elwood Lyals, Jr., Diandro Lyals, Demeadro Lyals,Josh Herson, and Deahtron Crosland; four daughters, Naukel Barnes, Peggy Baldwin, Davaugh Crosland, and La'Sheia Lyals; two brothers, Barry Lyals and Herbert Lyals; two sisters, Candy Ellison, and Michele (Larry) Lawery; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and special friends. 

You left a beautiful memory, 

A sorrow too great to be told, 
And to those who loved and lost you, 
Your memory will never grow old. 

 Funeral service will be 10am Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 9am until the time of service. Interment will be at Fountain Lawn Memorial Park, Ewing, NJ.
