It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Emmanuel Terilus, a loving father and family man, and proud Haitian, who left an indelible mark on the lives of everyone he touched.
Born on October 9, 1945, in Port au Prince, Haiti, Emmanuel grew up with a strong sense of community, and culture.
He was an acrobatic and traveled with the circus in his young years. Before he immigrated to the United States and worked tirelessly to build a better life for himself and his loved ones. He spent most of his life living in New York City where he was self-employed in the construction field. His talent was so fierce that he could tear down a home and rebuild all by himself. Every morning you can catch Emmanuel with a New York Times paper in his hand. I don't think he·ever missed a morning until he moved to New Jersey, which I believed kept his brain so sharp in golden years. He was a profound soccer fan and player.
As Emmanuel reached his golden years he was diagnosed with Parkinsons, he lived with this disease for over 20 years. One thjng about him is that no matter how hard the task was while suffering with Parkinson he believed that he could do it. Emmanuel was a kind and gentle soul, loved by all who knew him. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend.a helping hand.
Emmanuel Terilus is survived by his chfldren, Luc Terilus arid Marjorie Terilus; his grandchildren, his siblings and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss him.
Funeral service will be 10:15am Saturday February 8, 2025 at Holy Trinity Baptist Church, 162 S. Johnston Ave., Hamilton, NJ 08609. Calling hours will be 9am until the time of service. Interment will be at Colonial Memorial Park, Hamilton, NJ.
