Eric Adams

Eric Adams was born on Monday, April 16, 1962 in Bronx, NY to the late Charlotte Adams and Butch Moore. Eric peacefully responded to the Master's call, leaving labor for his heavenly reward. On Tuesday, November 4, 2025, he took his final breath during treatment at the dialysis center, slipping quietly into God's glory. His assignment on this side was finished - truly, "Well done, My good and faithful servant."

He in his early years he attended the school in the Bronx, New York Later on in life Eric and his mother moved to Trenton between 1975 in 1976 to there his Mother was sought after by a handsome Man the late Arthur Henderson who married his Mother and adopted Eric, and raised him as his own. Later on Eric furthered his education through the Trenton public school system.

Eric grew up and felt the need for his own family life. One Bright Sunday Morning, his late grandma Pollard took him to the Church of Christ 434 N. Clinton Avenue in Trenton NJ. where he was taught and baptized. Eric met Lisa in 1981, and honestly, it didn't take long for things to fall into place. They started dating right away, and by May 23, 1983, they were married and locked in for life. From day one, they were a team inseparable, connected, and moving with purpose. Their path to becoming parents came naturally, through simple conversations with family, church folks, and each other. Nothing could slow down the plan God already had lined up for them. Their love stayed solid, real, and unbreakable. Back in the '90s, he was out there putting in real work with McRae Brothers Oil Company. Everybody knew on the weekend, he was on Murray Street in West Trenton, chillin' with family, laughing with friends, and just enjoying life.

He loved watching football, Eric was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles!!

In the early 2000s, Eric's health took a turn, and he went from using a crutch to relying on a wheelchair. But even then, he stayed solid, calm, strong, and never letting anything break his vibe or spirit. He started dialysis at St. Francis Hospital, and when they closed their doors, he kept pushing at Helene Fuld Hospital. He continued his treatments for more than a decade with the same unshakable strength.

He was the firstborn of six, the big brother who set the tone: Lori Sanders (George Sanders), Elizabeth "Ruthie" Adams (deceased), Charlene Adams, Monica P. Henderson, and Author Henderson Ill; Eric passed down his heart, humor, and hustle to his Children: Eric G. Henderson, Matthew Henderson, Tameka A. Henderson, and Derrick L. Henderson; And he was out here being "Pop-Pop" to a whole squad of grandchildren: Aysianae D. Henderson, Nasir J. Henderson, Bridgeforth, Eric N. Henderson, Sanijah A. Reading-Henderson, Ameriah Henderson Rodriguez, Catelin Henderson, Caylah Henderson, Derrick L. Henderson Jr., Noah Henderson, and Daamir Henderson. But Eric didn't just raise his own, he stepped up for others too. Clyde W. Floyd (cousin), Brandon Adams (nephew), and Dayvon Finney (nephew) all grew up under his guidance and love. His favorite cousins Clyde Funchess (deceased), Kendall Funchess, Russell Johnson, Jimmy Funchess, Ruben Owens, William Owens, Sylvia Howard, Richard Ellis, Lanarde Williams, and Noni Adams, were like built-in best friends throughout his life. He also showed love to his bonus family: Latia Parks (mother of his grandchildren) and Sharia Minney (Tameka's best friend). And we can't forget his day-one, his best friend, his brother in everything: Eddie Green, Godfather to his children and forever part of the family (deceased).

Eric Adams lived with a full heart, moved through every challenge with courage, and left an impact that's gonna live on through everyone he touched. His energy, his jokes, his loyalty, all of it stays with us. Rest easy, Eric. Your legacy is stamped. 

Funeral service will be 12pm Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 11am until the time of service. Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ.
