Evangeline Kelsey

Evangeline McLeon Kelsey was affectionately known as "Vangie" to those who knew and loved her. She was born in Trenton, New Jersey on July 17, 1956 to Clyde McLeon and Hazel McLeon Bloom.

She was educated in the Trenton Public School System and was a graduate of Trenton Central High School and County of Mercer Certified Nurse Aide Program where she received her Nurse Aide Certificate from the State of New Jersey.

She was employed by County of Mercer Department Geriatric Center and Genesis Health Care as a Certified Nurse Aide.

She was predeceased by her husband Sylvester Kelsey; two brothers Lorenzo White and Stephon McLeon; a sister Wanda White.

She leaves to cherish her memory her stepdaughter Scottia Reading Kelsey, of Ewing Township, NJ; her mother Hazel McLeon Bloom of Lawrence Township, NJ; a sister Priscilla McLeon Grant of Hamilton, NJ. her brothers, Cornelius White, Clyde McLeon Jr. both of California, Donald McLeon of Hamilton· Township, NJ and Kenneth (Brenda) McLeon 'of Triangle, VA; a special friend for over forty years Miriam Lopez of Trenton, NJ; a close host of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Services will be 11-1pm Friday, March 5, 2021 at Galilee Baptist Church, 440 Martin Luther Blvd King Jr., Trenton, NJ. Interment will be at Fountain Lawn Memorial Park, Ewing, NJ. Arrangements are by the Hughes Funeral Home.
