Frances Jerel Lacey, daughter of the Late William J. and Alberta Lacey, was born on November 19, 1943 in Trenton, New Jersey. She was also affectionately known as Mother Fran, Aunt Frannie, and Gus (her nickname given to her by her late nephew Clarence Armstrong, Jr.)
Frances was a lifelong New Jersey resident. She lived in Atlantic City for over 25 years and was employed by the John Brooks Recovery Center (NARCO INC); Harrah's Casino; and Stillman's Laundry Se vice. She later relocated to Chester, PA. and was employed by the Delaware County Municipal Government, as a service worker, until her retirement in April 2001.
After retirement, Frances moved back to Trenton, where she enjoyed spending time with her late sister Julia (with whom she was inseparable) as well as other family members and friends. After accepting Christ as her Lord and Savior, Frances would attend The Victorious Church under the direction of the late Pastor Terry Collins Sr., She also lovingly served as a volunteer at Redding Senior Center and Trinity Cathedral Food Pantry.
Frances loved spending time at the ocean and going fishing. Atlantic City was a favorite vacation spot for her and her family, especially her mother who she loved with all her heart. Fran was the happiest when she took Jahaad and Messiah fishing on the Del aware. She was also a die-hard Eagles Fan. "Fly Eagle Fly"
Frances departed this life on Saturday February 6, 2021 at Capital Health Regional Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents, William J. and Alberta Lacey, sisters Mary Whiteside and Julia N. Blount, brothers John Paul, Herbert and Herman Lacey, nephew, Clarence Armstrong Jr., and niece Vanessa A. r • Armstrong.
Frances leaves to cherish her memory, her sister Ethel Hemby (Webster) of Hamilton, a brother, William Jr., and a brother-in-law, Clarence Armstrong, Sr. of Trenton, a sister-in-law Edith Sheila Lacey of Trenton, a special niece Lisa Naomi Wilkins, with whom she shared a bond of unconditional love, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Also left to cherish her memory are her close friends Joan Camper, Atlantic City; Juanita Edwards, Trenton; Elizabeth Marinnie, Trenton; and Eddie Dawkins, Trenton. In addition, her friends from 630 who looked out for her and showered her with their kindness and care: Candyman, Kenny, Sam, and Sherry (her Home Health Care Aide).

Services will be 12-2pm Friday, February 19, 2021 at the Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Interment will be private.
