Fredrick Daron Hoagland, Sr., 74 completed his earthly duties and transitioned from labor to reward with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. He was born in Trenton, NJ, and spent his young adult years in Princeton, NJ and was a resident of Trenton, NJ, for over 60 years. He was a graduate of Trenton Central High School Class of 1968. Daron joined the Cavaliers when he was a young adult and remained one throughout his life.
Fredrick, aka Fred, aka Daron was employed by The State of New Jersey at New Jersey State Hospital after completing high school. He attended Mercer County Community College for 2 years. He joined the military and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, for 3 years, during this time he received the National Defense Service Medal for Rifle Marksman. Fred was a full time employee with The Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) as a Criminal Justice Counselor. He attended and completed several years of course work at Rutgers Summer School of Alcohol and Drug Studies and was also an Addiction Counselor. Fred’s life prepared him to do his greatest work with a whole lot of love and compassion for his fellow veteran and his community. He retired from The Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) June 2024.
Funeral service will be 11am Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 340 Rev. S. Howard Woodson Jr Way, Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hours will be 9am until time of service. Interment will be at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, , Newtown.
