Our cherished Georgia Mae Benning was born August 15, 1931, in Columbus, Georgia to the late James and Georgia Benning. She has ten siblings. She is the wife of the late Andrew Fluellen, and the mother of two daughters and two sons of their union.
Georgia loved cooking, especially her special macaroni and cheese, and banana pubbing. She enjoyed the casino she coined the "one-hand bandit". She was a lady with a brave and bold personality, outspoken and unafraid to speak her mind. She loved her family - and so much so that she gave them all a unique nickname.
Georgia retired from Genesis Elder Care - Nursing Home as the Head Dietary Cook, after 39 years of service.
Georgia was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Fluellen; her parents, James and Georgia Benning; a son-in-law, Rutledge Davis, Jr.; and nine of her siblings.
She is survived by her children: Jeannie Davis, James Fluellen (Tonya),David Fluellen, Sr. (Janice), and Gail Fluellen; one brother, Johnny Benning; 17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 6 great- great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a special friend, Mrs. Rose.
You left a beautiful memory, A sorrow too great to be told,
And to those who loved and lost you,
