Mother Gloria Elizabeth Love was born in Washington Heights, Georgia on March 3, 1934 to Cora Baxter and Willie James Baxter. Mother Love heeded the call from heaven and transitioned from this life on January 19, 2023. She was united in holy matrimony to Clinton Love, Sr. on August 18, 1951 and was a resident of New Jersey for more than seventy years. During this time, Mother Love and Bishop Love reared eleven children. She worked tirelessly along with her husband and their small membership in establishing and maintaining the Ebenezer Church of God in Christ during the time when members were not affluent.
Mother Love was saved at the age of sixteen and served the Lord and His church faithfully until she became too infirm to continue active ministry. She began service as a teenager as Sunday School secretary under Deacon William Love. She served as Sunday School secretary and superintendent, church secretary, church mother, president of the Middlesex District Ministers and Deacons Wives Auxiliary, Ebenezer COGIC project manager and wherever she was needed in ministry. She was a prayer warrior of great faith. She was also an accomplished seamstress, proficient in crochet, macrame, embroidery, and dressmaking. Additionally, she loved the challenge of jigsaw, crossword, and word search puzzles.
Mother Love was preceded in death by two children, Charles Anthony and Annette Carmichael; he~ mother, and father and her brother David Mobley.
She leaves to cherish her .memories, her husband, Bishop Clinton Love, Sr.; five sons, Bruce (Joy), Michael, Clinton Jr., Vincent and Germaine, Sr. ; four daughters, Geraldine
(Vincent) Love-White, Theresa, Gloria Lynn, and Elizabeth Love; a goddaughter, Linda Mount; a host of grandchildren, great- grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, Saints and friends.
Funeral service will be 10:30am Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Calvary Pentecostal Church, 471 Parkway Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 9am until the time of service. Interment will be at Greenwood, NJ. Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home.
