Gloria Reynolds Obituary

Wednesday afternoon, June 15,2022, at 12:34 pm, God in his unlimited power saw fit to call our Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Aunt Gloria Reynolds home.

Gloria Reynolds was born Gloria Thompson in Leasburg, North Carolina to a single mother, Irene Garvin. She was adopted by the midwife Fannie McGhee and her husband Ned McGhee.
Raised in Leasburg along with a brother Willie "Bruh" Brandon, Gloria left home at the age of 15 and headed North. After a few states over the years, Gloria landed in New York where she met her future husband Daniel and they married in 1948. They moved to Daniel's town of residence, Ewing Township, NJ. They had been married for 59 years upon his death in 2006. To their union, three sons were born, Daniel Jr., Timothy and Jan.

Gloria was a hard-working woman who served as a CNA for Parkway Nursing home and later Oddfellow's Nursing Home from where she retired. She was known for cleanliness (which she would quickly tell you was next to Godliness) and also cleaned homes part time. Anyone that knew her could tell you a few of her favorite pastimes were gardening, baking and crocheting. Every Spring, she would make sure to keep her yard beautiful and plant enough flowers to make passersby stop and stare. She could be found in her yard every morning and every evening watering her flower and vegetable gardens and plucking anything that didn't look right to her. She enjoyed baking pies, cakes and rolls for church bake sales, family and friends. Gloria was known to help those in need, she never met a stranger. She would start a conversation with anyone. whether she was in a
grocery line, or taking a walk down the street. She enjoyed meeting people. She also loved talking on the phone to friends and family to catch up on everyone's life and to see if her help was ever needed. Gloria was a Ewing Township resident for 65 years until moving to Willingboro with her granddaughter Erica in 2013.

Gloria loved the Lord and stood by her faith until the end. She was a long-time member of St. John's Baptist Church, sang in the choir and served on various committees over the years; always in full support of the family's church and it's needs.

Gloria was predeceased by her husband Daniel Sr. and their son Timothy, her brother "Bruh", and sister Virginia Thompson.

Left to cherish her memories, her sons Daniel Jr. (Spring) Reynolds of Trenton, Jan Reynolds of northern NJ; two special daughters-in-law, Jacqueline Reynolds of Bradenton, FL and Karin Hoagland of Princeton, NJ; granddaughters Erica Reynolds and Tanisha (Oscar) Smith both of Willingboro, NJ, two grandsons, Wynter (Angel) Reynolds of Staten Island, NY and Daniel Reynolds III of Trenton, NJ, a special granddaughter, Shirline Pollard, of Westampton, NJ, 9 great-grandchildren Brett Hillman, Jr., Kyla and Bryce Reynolds, Reginald Jr. and Rajan Bethea, Marcus Powell, Jada and Elsie Reynolds and Daniel Reynolds IV, special friends Margaret Holloway, Judith and Dawn Hillman and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
