Obituary Harold Barry Higgenbotham Harold Barry Higgenbotham was born to the late Walter H Higgenbotham and Minnie L Higgenbotham January 31, 1947 in Trenton NJ. He departed this earthly life Friday, September 05, 2025.
Barry as he was called was educated in the Trenton Public schools graduating from Trenton Central High School. After high school he served with the US Marines Corps. Singing was Barry’s first love and upon return from the US Marines Corps Barry joined Trenton’s own TNJ’s singing group. With the TNJ’s he was afforded the opportunity to travel the country performing and even being the opening act for some of americas top entertainers.
Barry is predeceased by his parents Walter Harold Higgenbotham, and Minnie Louise Higgenbotham, his son Kevin Irving Higgenbotham and his sister Betty Higgenbotham.
Barry leaves to treasure his memory, his siblings Beverly Council and Irving Higgenbotham (Evelyn), both of whom were his primary caregivers and advocates for his health and wellbeing, his children Sharon Turner (Kelvin), Brandi Higgenbotham and Nicholas Higgenbotham, his grandchildren Starr King, Kelvin J Turner (Tatiana), Sakeira Welch, Shanae Higgenbotham, Kourtni Dawkins (Theo), Aaron Higgenbotham, Aaliyah Higgenbotham, Davon Higgenbotham and Niko Higgenbotham , 7 great grandchildren, 6 nieces, and nephews two, Andre Council and Baishaun Jones, who were very intricate in his care, 9 great nieces and nephews and a host of cousins and friends including TNJ’s group members Dennis Richardson and Elijah “EJ” Jones, his caregivers and many of the staff at Trenton Gardens Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Funeral service will be 12pm Friday, September 19, 2025 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 11am until the time of service. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ.
