Hazel Gaynor-Borden

August 28, 1960  to   March 28, 2021

Hazel Borden was born August 28, 1960 and peacefully departed this life at home on March 28th, 2021 at the young age of 60. She was the fourth child of the six children born to Eugene and Joan Gaynor.

Hazel graduated from John F. Kennedy High School and worked a variety of small jobs throughout her life, but will always be known as a caregiver for family and friends. Childbirth? Sick and shut-in? Hazel was the first one to stay and watch over you ensuring you were fed and warm. Her beloved grandchildren were her most recent passion and she often cared for them at her home and theirs.

Hazel will be remembered for her love of late night horror movie festivals and her love of a good steak. She loved to cook what she loved to eat! We who loved her will miss her quick wit, unapologetic opinions and are grateful for her life and friendship.

Hazel is preceded in death by her father Eugene Gaynor, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother Joan Gaynor of Willingboro , four(4) children—Devon J. Borden(Stacy) of Trenton, NJ, Latitia B. Gravley(Ira) of Williamstown, NJ, Jasmine M. Borden (Sam) of Philadelphia, PA and Walter W. Borden (Sombra), of Miami, FL. Six(9) grandchildren, Domineque, Devon, Iriona, Ilyee, Ma’Kayla, Me’Khi, Eliazer, Bryan and Oscar. Five(5) siblings, Gerald S. Gaynor(Marcia), Denise Sapp(Norman), Theresa Williams(Lamont), Eugene Gaynor Jr.(Allison) all of New Jersey and Tawanna Simmons(Sean) of Pittsburgh, PA. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friend.

Funeral service will be 1pm Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Hughes Funeral Home,324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618.  Calling hours will be 12pm until the time of service.  Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ.
