Helen Brooks

On Saturday, December 4th 2021, the Lord called one of His beloved children home. Helen Elizabeth Brooks, 77 of West Windsor, New Jersey peacefully passed away. Born in Winchester, Virginia on November 16, 1944, she left the South and migrated North to embark on new beginnings. She was a resident of the Mercer County area for the last 40 years. 

Helen was educated in. the Winchester, Virginia school systems where she graduated from Handley High School in 1962; she furthered her education at Virginia Union. 

Helen began her professional career as an administrative assistant at Yale Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut and later worked with the Chevron Corporation. Subsequently in 1979, Helen embarked on a new career as a medical transcriptionist at Helene Fu1d Hospital in Trenton, NJ where she retired in 2006 after 27 years of devoted service. 

In 1967, she married Frank Douglas Carr Sr. From this union, they had two children Frank and Jason. Helen enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She adored her sons and grandchildren and always looked forward to special moments with each of them. Throughout her life, Helen enjoyed traveling to several Caribbean islands, gardening and nature. One of her favorite pastimes which she loved was shopping on QYC. 

Helen leaves to cherish her precious memories two children Frank D. Carr III (Sherri) of Ewing, NJ; Jason A. Carr (Tonia) of Burlington, NJ; eight loving grandchildren Naron (Heather); Marcel, Marvin (Amanda), Jada, Justin, Antonia, Christopher, Arianna; two great-grandchildren; Ta'kaylah and Ta'hnia as well as special friends and neighbors. 

Funeral service will be 1pm Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave, Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 12pm until the time of service. Interment will be at Fountain Lawn Memorial Park, Ewing, NJ.
