Helen Taylor Obituary

Helen was born on September 27, 1932, in Trenton, New Jersey, to James Patter­son, Sr. and Frances (Stowers) Patterson. She was the youngest and baby girl to her 14 brothers and sisters. 

She attended the Trenton Public School System and worked as a Home Health­care Assistant, until she retired. She was a people person and loved her position of a Health Care Assistant, working to take care and give her dedicated service to the sick, elderly and those recuperating from various surgeries. 

Helen married her Soul Mate Wesley Taylor and out of that union she gave birth to her only child, Wayne Taylor. Together they had an everlasting and cherished marriage fitting of the True Value and Meaning of SOULMATES. After the dev­astating death of her dear husband Westley in 2004, Helen remain independent for herself enjoyed life and-the company of family members, but because she never drove, her means of transportation-was her devoted Son and also Winks Cab Service of whom she was always fond of the Cab Owner Wayne Winckler, 
like another son, who enjoyed driving her to any and all destinations she needed to go. 

Helen loved to be around people and enjoyed family conversations whenever there were family and friend gatherings of celebrations, cookouts birthdays etc. She also had a love for baseball and baking. Helen will always be remembered for her contagious laugh. She will be dearly loved and missed and forever in our hearts. 

Helen was predeceased by her dear parents, James Edward Patterson Sr., Frances (Stowers) Patterson; her 14 sisters and brothers Esther (Patterson) Myers, Ruth (Patterson) Sweeney, Margaret Patterson, James Patterson, Lonnie Patterson, Zillah Patterson, Naomi Patterson, Ollie Patterson, Mary Patterson, Hubert Patter­son, Viola (Patterson) Gaines, Eleanor (Patterson) Howard, Robert Patterson, and Roosevelt Patterson; her daughter-in-law Eva Taylor; granddaughter Tisha Taylor and grandson Raymon Ricks. 

She leaves to mourn her devoted son Wayne Taylor, her dear and precious great grandchildren and a host of, nieces, nephews and dear friends. 

 

Funeral service will be 10am Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave, Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 9am until the time of service. Interment will be at Colonial Memorial Park, Hamilton, NJ.
