Herbert Gaymon.Jr. was born on November 6, 1948, to the late Herbert and Mollie Gaymon. He departed this life on January 10, 2026.
Born in Panola, South Carolina, Herbert was educated in the Clarendon County School District in Summerton, SC. He graduated for Scott's Branch High School in 1966.
On August 18, 1968, Herbert was drifted into the United States of Army. He served a total of 14 years in the service and 6 years as a Drill Sergeant, before being honorably discharged. During
that season of his life, Herbert moved to Trenton, NJ in 1972. He remained a longtime resident of the area.
Herbert was employed as a Business Manager for Laborers Local 595 for many years before retiring.
Herbert's faith was the cornerstone of his life. In 1991, he became a member of North Clinton Avenue Church of Christ, where he served faithfully. Knowledge of scriptures was important to him.
He enjoyed reading and studying the Old and New Testament.
In addition to his parents, Herbert was predeceased by his wife, Eileen E. Gaymon; and a son, Herbert Gaymon, III.
Herbert leaves to cherish his memories, his four children, Renae Jones (Darren), Jewel Gaymon, Darnique Gaymon, and Styles Gaymon; five brothers, Kimorage Gaymon (Q.ieen Elizabeth), Traywick Gaymon (Louise), Tracie Gaymon (Pamela), Rickie Gaymon (Paula), and Cedric Gaymon (Tonya); two sisters, Lettie Logan (Bₐrr y) and Judy Pringle (Joshua); four grandchildren, one great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be 11am Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Church of Christ, 411 North Clinton Ave, Trenton, NJ 08638. Calling hours will be 9am until time of service at the church. Entombment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ.
