Herbert Hill, 93, of Trenton, New Jersey, passed away peacefully Friday July 25, 2025, at a Mount Holly Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Lumberton Township, New Jersey.
Born on September 26, 1932, in Waren County, Georgia, Herbert was the beloved son of the late Anna Bell and Ed Hill. He spent his early years in Georgia before relocating to Trenton, New Jersey, where he lived for many years and built a life centered on family, hard work, and strong values. Herbert worked in construction for much of his life and was known for his wisdom, his humor, and the way he always made people feel welcomed. He was married to the late Mary Hill, with whom he shared many years of love and companionship. In his free time, Herbert enjoyed watching cowboy movies, playing cards, and spending time with his family. He had a calm and steady presence, and his arm spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He leaves to cherish his memory one sister, Tessie H. Reading of Yardley, Pennsylvania, and one brother, James Hill of Boston, Massachusetts and a niece who also served as his caregiver, Angela Morris. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great-grandnieces, great-grandnephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Herbert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Hill, his parents, Anna Bell and Ed Hill, four brothers, Willie Hill, Bobby Hill, Ed Hill, & W.M. Hill and three sisters Lessie Brewington, Estella Jordan and Bernice Hannah.
Funeral service will be 11am Friday, Aungust 8, 2025 at Second Baptist Church-Bristol, 640 Race St, Bristol, PA 19007. Calling hour will be 10am until the time of service. Interment will be private..
