With much love spread and many memories shared, our beloved Hiram accepted his angel's invitation into the kingdom on Monday, January 8, 2024 at Capital Health R,egional Hospital at Fuld in Trenton, New Jersey. As a result, our hearts are less bright but we know the heavens are filled with extra doses of love, joy, peace and laughter.
Hiram C. Sallie Jr. was born in Trenton on March 6, 1958 to Henry and Martha Sallie. He remained a resident of Trenton his entire life.
He was educated in the Trenton public school system, and he was a self-employed entrepeneur.
In his leisure time, Hiram loved to bowl, and he was a member of the Senior Bullet Bowlers. He also served on the Trenton High School class of 1976 reunion committee. He will be remembered as a giver who voluntarily served as the community cook. To all who had the priviledge of knowing him, he was a phenomenal community leader and a father figure to many especially Joy, Tonetta and T-Money. Hiram was an avid supporter of UH-HURU Village and Burial Grounds annual trips. He visited Africa, Egypt, Jerusalem and several other countries.
He was preceded in death by his parents Hiram Sr. and Pauline Sallie: his sister Elizabeth Sallie Frink; his great uncle Henry; his great aunt Martha.
Hiram's memory will be cherished and forever remembered by his cousins Jane Byrd, Loretta Cason, Norman Hightower, Lillian Davis, Jack Clark and Virginia Clark; the descendents of the Bosh family of Texas, Tobe Bosh and Mary Elder Bosh; his special friends Kim, Cynetta, Brenda, Tink, Todd and Shawn; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 10:30am Monday, January 22, 2024 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 9:30am until the time of service. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ.
