Ivy L. Jordan Obituary

 

 

Jordan affectionately known as "Sister Girl, by her dad, "'Bubb" and transitioned to Glory on April ,3, 2025, Beloved Daughter, Mother, "Mother Dear" by her children, was born on June 22, 1945, and peacefully Grandmother and Woman of God who fought a good fight, finished her course and kept the faith. Educated in the Trenton School System, Ivy returned in later years to strive for and successfully attain her Diploma.
 

Ivy began work at an early age and had a career in government that spanned over 25 years. She was a Supervisor at the North Princeton Developmental Center formerly known as Skillman and she retired from Trenton Psychiatric Hospital.
 

A true numbers whiz, with a zest for learning, she loved to read, especially her Bible and her Florence Scovel Shinn books. Ivy had a true passion for fashion, jewelry, shopping and travel. As a conversationalist and storyteller, she enjoyed engaging in lengthy chats with her family and dear friends. Ivy loved to laugh, and her beautiful smile would illuminate the room. Fun-loving and very generous, Ivy was known to shower others with gifts and holidays were her favorite time.


The true light of Ivy's life was her one and only, as she lovingly referred to as "My Boy," her son Mitchell Dicky" Jordan. Ivy's joy became even more complete with the arrival of her "Baby Girls" Krystina Elise and Kymarrah Mitrice Jordan, her granddaughters who she truly adored.

 

Above all, Ivy had a heart for the Lord; she knew and believed in Corinthians 15:58. As a member of New Life Christian Center since the early 1990's, Ivy's devotion is evidenced by the roles in which she served Formerly Chair of the Board of Trustees, she was installed as an Elder by the late Apostle Willie J. and the late First Lady Mildred E, Granville, who she loved early. Ivy was also appointed as a Mother of the Church by Senior Pastor Mark E. and First Lady Deshahn M. Granville. Ivy loved her church, and she was always Godly proud when her family and dear friends visited and fellowshipped with her.
 

Ivy was predeceased by her parents I.J. "Sarge" and Elizabeth Jordan, her grandparents Ira and Zula "Ma Dear Jordan who raised her and a brother Antonio Jordan. She leaves to cherish her memory, a son, Mitchell (fiancée Franzsene), sisters Bette, and Jerri, her loved daughter, Patricia, granddaughters Krystina and Kymarrah, ones in Chicago, Mississippi and Virgina, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, many dear friends and her NLCC Family. 

Ivy’s Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at New Life Christian Center, 812 Prospect St. Trenton, NJ 08618. Viewing at 9:00 AM until service.
