Jake McNeil Jr., was born on March 31, 1969, in Trenton, N), where he remained primarily a lifelong resident. He spent five years in Georgia, where he graduated from Southwest DeKalb High School. Jake was employed at Regional Medical Center, formerly known as Helene Fuld. Jake, lovingly known as "Knowledge," was part of a brotherhood (FEB) that spanned more than 40 years. He was loved by many whose lives he touched. Jake passed away at home, May 4, 2026. Jake was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Jean Ball-Baxter; father, Jake McNeil Sr.; and his grandmother, Ann McNeil.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Shakira Brooks (Lydia Crowder) and Kaleah Davis.
He is also survived by brothers, James Anthony Ball (Nicole Ball); Richard Ball, and Ronald Dunton; Aunts: Janice McNair (George McNair); Antoinette Ball; Gennice Drayson (Dwayne Drayson) and Uncles: Ronald Gurley; Bobby McNeil (Queenie McNeil); favorite cousin, Stephanie McNeil. He also leaves behind a special friend, Sharon Stephens; a good friend and brother, Joe; and cousins Adrienne Gurley and Patricia Ball; his nieces, Megan Hollen, Amira Martinez, and Taylor Ball; his nephew, James Ball Jr.; along with many other host of nieces and nephews, loving relatives and friends, too many to mention individually.
Funeral service will be 11am Thursday, May 14, 2026 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 10am until the time of service. Interment will be private.
